Cohabitation affidavit

Property & tenancy

Start by matching the affidavit to the office or application that asked for it. The KwaZulu-Natal declaration, immigration relationship process, Stockholm embassy visa route, and surviving-partner claim use different papers. Open the matching official document, check what it asks you to declare, and prepare the details for that route before signing.

How to use it

  1. Check the questions about your relationship Check the form’s age question: are both older than 18years old. It also asks whether you share a close personal relationship and are responsible for each other’s welfare. Answer from your own circumstances.
  2. Read the partnership statement The declaration describes an unmarried partnership intended to be permanent and exclusive. It also describes living together and giving each other emotional and financial support. Use it only if it matches your circumstances.
  3. Check the shared-home statement The form asks whether you share the same regular and permanent residence and intend to continue doing so indefinitely. Make sure your answer reflects your current home and plans.
  4. Review the oath and signature area The signer confirms they understand the declaration, indicates whether they object to taking the prescribed oath, and regards the oath as binding to their conscience. The form has place, date, time, and signature fields. Its commissioner section asks for a full name and capacity.
