How to use it

If you are self-employed in Cape Town For City of Cape Town indigent support, prepare a sworn affidavit stating how much you earn per month. Make the amount you earn each month clear. This affidavit is for your income declaration; the bank records are separate supporting documents.
If you are self-employed in Overstrand For an Overstrand indigent grant application, prepare an affidavit to declare income if you are self-employed. Make your declared income clear and keep this with the records for the same municipality. Check the municipality named on each document before you submit.
If you are unemployed in Overstrand Prepare an affidavit declaring that you are unemployed and have no other source of income. State when your unemployment began. This step applies to an unemployed applicant for the Overstrand indigent grant.

Document checklist

Cape Town: you have a bank account For a City of Cape Town indigent support application with bank records, gather a bank statement for the last three months. Add a sworn affidavit listing your bank account(s) and confirming that you do not have any other bank accounts. Keep the two records together, but make sure the affidavit remains separate from the statements. Check that you have both items before submitting your application.
Cape Town: you do not have a bank account If you have no bank account, get a sworn affidavit confirming that you do not have a bank account. This is the no-account option for the City of Cape Town application. Check your circumstances before assembling documents so you use the matching route.
