Tips before you send it

  • Keep the overview specific; support claims about experience with clear examples.
  • Use the same registered name and contact details across the profile and business documents.
  • Describe services by customer need and outcome, not only by trade names or internal terms.
  • Remove confidential client details or ask before naming an organisation.
  • Mark compliance items honestly and attach records requested by the recipient.

Questions & answers

Who should use a company profile?

Small businesses can use it when introducing themselves to tender teams, potential clients or supplier databases. It also keeps key business details together in an editable document.

Can I use this for a tender application?

Yes. Tailor the services, experience and supporting documents to match the tender request. The profile supports your application but does not replace forms the buyer asks you to complete.

What if my business has no past projects?

Describe relevant skills, training or equipment. If there is no suitable work to list, mark the experience section as not applicable.

Do I need to include CIPC and SARS details?

Add details that apply to your business and the recipient's request. Check current requirements with CIPC or SARS if you are unsure.

Can I edit or remove sections?

Yes. Change headings and add rows to suit the business. Keep information that helps readers assess your services, experience and ability to supply.
