Overview
The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) supports the development of sport, arts, and cultural life in South Africa through policy, funding frameworks, and sector coordination. It works to expand participation, strengthen institutions, preserve heritage, and support creative industries that contribute to identity and economic activity. DSAC’s mandate connects community development to national programmes by enabling opportunities for athletes and artists, safeguarding cultural assets, and promoting social cohesion through shared cultural expression.
