Overview
The Western Cape Department: Social Development supports social welfare services and social protection initiatives aimed at reducing vulnerability and strengthening community wellbeing. It works on programmes for families, children, older persons, and vulnerable groups, and supports community-based services and partnerships that improve access to support. By coordinating welfare services and targeted interventions, the department contributes to poverty reduction, social cohesion, and improved outcomes for people facing hardship.
